Nuri M. Santos, age 89, of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully under hospice care on February 25th, 2026.

Nuri was born in San José de los Ramos, Cuba, to Ramon Ramos and Ernestina Vera. On Valentine’s Day in 1965, she married her beloved husband, Fausto “Quique” E. Santos, in Havana, Cuba. Together they shared 50 loving years of marriage.

A passionate educator and lifelong learner, Nuri earned her Doctorate in Philosophy and Letters as well as a Master’s degree in Library Science from La Universidad de La Habana in Cuba. She dedicated her life to education, beginning her career as a religion and literature teacher at Academia Santa Rosa in Puerto Rico. She later became the head librarian at Colegio Marista in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, and authored two library resource manuals on academic formatting and citations. She was honored as Teacher of the Year twice. Her work was truly her life’s passion.

Nuri lived in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Arizona, and Florida throughout her life. She was a devoted Catholic, and in her free time, she loved reading, writing poetry, sewing needlepoint, and spending meaningful time with family and friends.

Some of her most treasured memories were the times she spent in Arizona with her three boys (her grandsons), and her husband, “Papa Quique.” She delighted in caring for them and cooking delicious meals, especially her famous chicken salad.

Nuri is survived by her daughter, Barbara Reboulet, and her son-in-law, Jeff Reboulet; her grandchildren, Jean-Paul Reboulet (Alissa), Luc Reboulet, and Alexi Reboulet (Laura); and her great-grandchild, Tommy Reboulet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fausto “Quique” E. Santos; her parents, Ramon Ramos and Ernestina Vera; her sister, Lilia Cremati; and her niece, Lilia Rosa Cremati.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at East Bay Rehab for their care over the past three years, and to Suncoast Hospice for their compassion during her brief stay.

Memorial contributions may be made in Nuri’s honor to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Largo, Florida.
