Mary Roberts-Ruesch of Pinellas Park Florida, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 9 th with her family at her side. She was 91 years old.
Mary was born in Kitchener, Ontario Canada to John and Lily Heller, and lived most of her adult life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Gardner C. Roberts, of Milwaukee where they raised their three children. She’s also predeceased by John F. Ruesch with whom she shared her retirement years, residing in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Mary worked for many years as a secretary for the Shorewood School System, and Cardinal Stritch College, where she loved interacting with students and thrived working with the administration. During her retirement she volunteered at the Pinellas Park Police Department.
She was a passionate golfer and painter, and also a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. Entertaining brought great enjoyment to Mary, hosting all family dinners and gatherings. Marys’ sweet demeanor and endearing smile made her many friends wherever she lived. She found the most joy in being a Mom and Grandma, and spending time with her many friends and extended family. Knowing her meant loving her, and she will forever be missed.
She is survived by her loving children, Cheryl Brady (Charlie), of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Debra Cordeiro (Albert), of Marion Massachusetts, and David Roberts, (Lisa) of Pinellas Park, Florida, as well as step son John Ruesch of New York, New York. Grandchildren Brian, Matthew, Alex, Michael and Kelly, and Great-Granddaughter Ellie. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Magnolia Gardens, who cared for Mary this past year, as they became family to her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 25 th at 12:00 noon at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 9530 Starkey Road, Seminole Florida 33777. In lieu of flowers please share a kind gesture, or donate to your favorite charity.
