Donald “Donny” Weidenkopf II
December 7, 1975 – June 30, 2025
With deep sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Donald “Donny” Weidenkopf, 49, of St. Petersburg, Florida, on June 30, 2025.
Born on December 7, 1975, in West Virginia, Donny was known for his big heart, quick wit, and being a kid at heart. He was mechanically inclined, a passionate cook, and someone who found true purpose in helping others. Loyal, caring, and hardworking, Donny took pride in everything he did-from his career to the way he showed up for the people he loved.
Donny is survived by his devoted wife, Diane “Dena” Capobianco, his greatest love and life partner. He also leaves behind his loving sisters, Antigua Weidenkopf Metz (husband Jeff) and Desiree Weidenkopf Marsicano (husband Chuck). Donny and Antigua shared a deep and unbreakable bond that only strengthened with time. He was a proud and loving uncle to his nephews, Tyler and Joshua Metz, who were like sons to him. Their time together was filled with laughter, love, and shared passions-carving pumpkins at Halloween, lighting up the sky with fireworks, and playing video games.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Weidenkopf and Deborah Workman Lovett, as well as his beloved fur babies, Oscar and Lola, who brought him years of unconditional love and companionship.
Donny’s hobbies reflected his many talents and interests. He enjoyed dart tournament leagues, glass blowing, gardening, fishing, golfing, puzzles, home improvement projects, RC car racing, and bowling nights with family. He had a deep appreciation for nature and marine life, often spending peaceful moments simply watching the world around him. He especially loved where he lived-taking in breathtaking sunsets that brought him peace and joy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Feather Sound Church, 13880

Feather Sound Dr., Clearwater, FL 33762.
Family and friends are invited to gather in love, remembrance, and gratitude for the time they shared with Donny.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with funeral expenses and to support his wife, Dena, during this incredibly difficult time. Contributions can be sent via Venmo: @Diane-Capobianco-6.
Though Donny’s time with us was far too short, the memories, love, and light he gave will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
