Betty Marlene Plants, 90, of Clearwater, passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2026. 💐

Betty was born November 24, 1935, in Van Wert County to Edith and Fred Clark. She married the love of her life, Edward L. Plants, on July 26, 1953, in Wood County. In late 1963, they moved to Florida, where she would build a lifelong home and legacy.

A dedicated educator, Betty graduated from University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and went on to teach in Pinellas County Schools for 43 years. She shaped countless young lives with patience, kindness, and commitment, leaving an enduring impact on her community. 🍎

Betty was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and quiet strength touched all who knew her. She cherished music—especially country—loved to dance, and treasured traveling with her sisters. Her life was centered on family and the simple joys that brought people together. 🎶

She is survived by her children: Lydia Good (Steve) of Clearwater, Florida; Lawrence of Russellville, TN; and Leonard of Clearwater, Florida; as well as her sisters, Patty Williams and Mary Dix. Betty was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and her family was the center of her world. 💖

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward L. Plants; her parents, Edith and Fred Clark; and three brothers and two sisters.

Per her wishes, Betty was cremated and will be interred with her husband at Bay Pines National Cemetery. No services are planned at this time. Those who wish may make a donation in her memory to their favorite charity. 🌷
