Arlene Hall
Arlene (Gagan) Hall, age 88, of Largo, FL and formerly of Lowell, MA, died Saturday, May 16, 2026, with her loving daughter holding her hand.
She was born in Lowell, MA on August 29, 1937, to the late George and Evelyn (Brodeur) Gagan.
In her youth Arlene could be found roller skating at the Hi-Hat Roller Rink in Lowell. When her son started playing hockey and she found herself spending countless hours in the ice rinks she decided to switch to ice skating. She went on to become a pre-gold ice dancer, judged many competitions and taught ice skating at numerous rinks.
Arlene was always ready for a good time, as long as it wasn’t before noon time! If you happened to be at her daughter and son-in-law’s house on Christmas Eve, you would be fortunate enough to receive her annual “school picture” whether you wanted it or not. Her and her niece, Kathy would start planning in June for the famous Christmas Eve production that became a family tradition. Arlene was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with her family and friends.
Arlene was the manager at Lowell Telephone Answering Service for many years before joining her husband in the family business, Junior’s Variety in Dracut. She retired from the Dracut School System having served as the librarian at the Greenmont Avenue School.
Arlene was predeceased three weeks earlier by her husband Wilfred (JR) Hall, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Marc Gosselin and her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Gail Hall. She is also survived by her grandchildren Marc Jr. and Katie Gosselin, Jon and Caryn Gosselin, Michael Jr. and Nicole Hall, Misty Faye Hall and Colby Goodrum, and Heidi and Matt Zagorski. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Emma, Elise, Peyton, Ryan, Sean, Loxley, Sadie, and Ethan. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law George “Ronnie” and Jane Gagan. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Patricia (Hall, Martineau) Welch, brothers-in-law Gerard and Roger “Butch” and Sandra Hall, sisters-in-law Doris Hall, Terry Hall and Julie Hall, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Ruth (Hall) Asselin and brothers-in-law Clifford, Robert, Donald, Lucien and Richard “Nick” Hall.

The memories of the lovely Christmas Eve celebrations are indelibly etched in my heart forever. Who can forget those great skits? Wherever Arlene (and JR) were, laughter abounded. Beautiful times live forever. ❤️💕
We had a lot of good family times in the day and dubbed ourselves the Outlaws (rather than in-laws – lol) What a life well lived. Love and prayers to the family at this sad time.
