In Loving Memory of Shawn Michael Sullivan
July 23, 1970 – July 26, 2025
Shawn Michael Sullivan, 55, of Fort Myers Shores, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a courageous battle with COPD. Born on July 23, 1970, in East Meadow, New York, Shawn was the beloved son of the late Anita and Harry Sullivan.
Shawn lived life on his own terms—loud, genuine, and full of heart. He was the kind of person who lit up every room he entered, a force of energy and fun who left lasting impressions on everyone he met. Whether it was through his music, his booming laugh, or his unforgettable Fourth of July fireworks displays, Shawn made sure those around him felt joy.
A lifelong music lover, Shawn was the lead singer of several local bands, including the unforgettable “Psycho Sativa.” Music wasn’t just a passion, it was his way of connecting, celebrating, and giving. He was always the first to buy concert tickets for his friends and family, generously sharing the experiences he loved most.
Off the stage, Shawn was a successful business owner, running his own tree trimming and removal company. He took pride in hard work and gave back to those around him. An avid softball player, his team earned many trophies over the years—a testament to both his talent and his team spirit.
Shawn’s favorite holiday was the Fourth of July, and his family will always remember the awe-inspiring fireworks shows he orchestrated year after year. He spared no expense and poured his heart into each celebration, turning them into magical memories for those lucky enough to be there.
Above all, Shawn was a family man—the cool uncle everyone wished they had. He is survived by his loving sister, Tracey; his cherished nieces and nephew, Dee, Stacey, and Wes; and his adored great-niece and great-nephew, Anastasyia and Seth. He is preceded in death by his parents and many close friends, who surely welcomed him with open arms.
A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held at the Franklin Locks in Alva, Florida, on Saturday, August 16th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Family and friends are invited to share stories, laughter, and love as they remember a man who gave so much of himself to others.
Shawn’s voice, both in music and in life, will echo in the hearts of all who knew him. He was one of a kind—and he will be deeply missed.
