In Loving Memory of

Raelee Russavage, 74, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed into
eternal peace on May 15, 2025, at HPH Hospice Brooksville,
cradled by the love of her devoted husband of 34 years,
Mike Russavage, her daughter, Dr. Sara Nelson, and her son,
Brad Nelson. Born on January 26, 1951, in Grand Rapids,
Michigan, to Leon F. Gillett and Aurelia A. Matteson,
Raelee’s life was a vibrant tapestry of kindness, resilience,
and boundless generosity.

Raelee’s 19 plus year career at Hanover Insurance, following
impactful roles at Allstate and CNA Insurance, showcased
her professionalism and care. Her creative spirit thrived in
crafting and hand-painting holiday ceramics and sewing
exquisite quilts, earning her the role of Treasurer for the
Hernando Quilting Guild in Spring Hill. Raelee’s warm smile
and infectious joy lit up every room, whether she was
stitching a quilt or cheering for her grandchildren, Rhiann,
Owen, and Alex. Even in her courageous battle with cancer,
Raelee’s grace and strength inspired all who knew her.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Mike, of Spring Hill;
daughter, Dr. Sara Nelson, of Seattle, WA; son, Brad
Nelson, of Chicago, IL; and cherished grandchildren, Rhiann
and Owen Robson of Seattle, and Alex Nelson of Chicago.
Raelee was predeceased by her parents, Leon and Aurelia.
Her legacy of love endures in the countless hearts she
touched.

A celebration of Raelee’s life will be held at the Kruger
Center/Bldg, Spring Hill, FL on May 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM,
for a gathering to share memories and honor her wonderful
life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to HPH
Hospice (12260 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613,
www.hph-hospice.org), who supported Raelee’s final days.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the staff at HPH Hospice
Brooksville for their compassionate care and support they
provided.
