Charles Paul Cuthbert
Charles Paul Cuthbert, 83, passed away peacefully on May 14th, 2026, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Dublin, Ireland, on October 21st, 1942, Charlie built a life centered around love, family, laughter, and devotion to those closest to him. A proud Irishman with a warm smile and kind heart, he will be remembered most for the role he cherished above all others: Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, golfer, and family man.
Charlie shared a lifelong love with his beloved wife, Marie, whose unwavering devotion remained by his side through every season of life. Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army and carried that same sense of strength, dedication, and pride throughout his life. He had a deep love for soccer and treasured the connections, memories, and camaraderie the sport brought him over the years.
He is survived by his eternal loving wife, Marie, son Paul and his wife Jennifer, grandchildren Paulina and Anthony; daughter Sharon, husband Rob and grandson Cooper, son Sean and his wife Karen; along with a loving family in Ireland and New York who remained close to his heart throughout his life.
The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown during this long goodbye that Alzheimer’s brings.
A Mass will be held on June 19th, 2026, at 9:45 a.m. at St. Raymond’s Church in East Rockaway, NY.

Dad, I will always love you & forever keep you in my heart. Thank you for loving me so deeply my entire life and for bringing so much joy to so many. You and Mom had a love so many could only dream of…I am so blessed to have been a witness to it. I’m so grateful you were at my wedding and I got to dance with you to our song…”Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion. I will cherish all of our memories and I will for sure see you again somewhere beyond the sea. I love you forever. 💚🤍🧡
I will treasure the kind, warm, genuine person you were and I will treasure the time I spent with you on the beach in Florida in 2018 when you told me all about your football life story, meeting auntie Marie and emigrating to America no one could tell a story quite like you Uncle Charlie. R. I.P.
Condolences to All his beloved family especially Marie xxxx
Dear Sharon and Marie,
While I have not yet met, misty eyes with yours, always with a warm smile, one day we will and like the lives touched, you know mine well and I am so deeply touched.
Since your Dad’s departure the sound of music has shown up so magically in moments, there’s no question… We’re in awe!
As you now continue to navigate these peaceful waters, you are surrounded by him….. Your forever song..
With worlds of love
Charlie’s love was so powerful that although I never got the pleasure of meeting him, I got to know him through his daughter Sharon. May your family find the strength to carry on after this undescribable loss. I’ll forever think of Charlie when I watch soccer now. Rest in peace and watch over us all
Charlie’s presence will be missed. He was a symbol of stability and comfort… and so much laughter (and intellectual debate) during a time when a father figure was needed. We will always have a special connection and place in our hearts for Charlie. I know he is immersed in peace and light, and that vision is one that brings me immense comfort. ✨
Sending love and condolences to the entire family! Thank you for sharing him with us! Wendy and Kenny Frost
