Jake Andrew Fichtner, age 25, of Hudson, Florida, passed away on January 5, 2026. Though his time on earth was far too brief, Jake lived with a passion, courage, and kindness that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Jake was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, to Janet Wilkes-Fichtner and Robert Fichtner Jr. From an early age, he showed a remarkable work ethic and determination beyond his years. At just 12 years old, Jake began mowing lawns, eager to earn his own way. By age 14, he was working at Publix, where he remained until 16, before moving on to an auto machine shop from ages 16 to 19. His drive and mechanical talent ultimately led him to one of his proudest accomplishments—opening and owning his own automotive machine shop, a dream he worked tirelessly to achieve.

Jake was fearless in both life and adventure. He embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, never hesitating to try something new. He loved fishing, diving, boating, and racing pure stocks, and cherished the thrill and freedom that came with each. During his school years, Jake was involved in an impressive range of activities, including soccer, baseball, wrestling, martial arts, track, Cub Scouts, and go-kart racing—always eager to learn, compete, and grow.

Among his many achievements, Jake was most proud of owning his business, winning a feature race at the racetrack, and rescuing two shelter dogs. His love for animals was deep and genuine, reflecting the compassion that defined his character. An old soul with a kind heart, Jake treated everyone he met with respect and warmth, leaving people better for having known him.

Jake is survived by his loving parents, Janet Wilkes-Fichtner and Robert Fichtner Jr.; his aunts, Lynn Skinner (Mike Skinner) and Angie Acrey (John Acrey); his grandmother, Jeanette Edson; his grandfather, Robert Fichtner; his stepgrandmother, Alice Wilkes; his cousins, Christopher Cordone (Chrissy Cordone) and Amanda Acrey; and many extended family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Andrew Wilkes; his stepgrandfather, John Edson; his grandmother, Ann Fichtner; and his great-grandfather, Robert Fichtner Sr.

Jake’s spirit in now free to pursue his next adventure. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
